Great story. Had exactly the same experience. Everybody does actually. First went in the late 80's, visited the Dog, smoked a ready rolled - first mistake - then spent the rest of the day in a complete haze just wandering the city. We regarded it as Disneyland for Adults. Our favourite places, though, are Dutch Flowers and Katsu. And living in London, it meant that we could take quick weekend breaks! We went so often we had to start fibbing to people where we were going - again! I think our personal best was seven trips in a year. We kept an old copy of Mellow Pages and wrote tasting notes from every visit. We did them all! Our son now does the same thing. Last time he went, he brought me back a Bulldog ashtray. My wife and I still laugh about the long afternoon we spent in Vondell Park at the cafe there, feeding coins into one of those vintage animatronic musical monkey band arcade machines. Talk about entertainment!
