My Week #32 Submission

Peace Somehow, and its artist are new to me. And I can definitely see where it would be soothing, but it wasn’t my favorite. Avi Kaplan however, has totally won me over!🤩

His approach to sharing his art is so inspiring! In the interview I shared in the Peace Somehow newsletter, Avi said something that stuck with me.

So for instance, if I’m writing a song that I hope will bring people healing, or I hope that will calm their anxiety. I will make the music reflect that. I will make my voice reflect that. And when I record it, I will put that energy and intention into the music. And maybe its superstition, but I believe it really works. And putting energy and intention into your music I feel like makes it more effective for it to do the things that you want it to do. -Avi Kaplan

He talked about intention. Which is something I’ve been quite focused on of late. My blog newsletter last week had an underlying aspect, and I’ll be following up on it in this week’s essay, To Clickbait or Not?

I really enjoyed listening to his album, Floating On A Dream. And the song, I’ll Try To Get It Right, that I’ve found and linked above, is right on point.

While I’m alive, I’m trying to get it right. I want to get it right.

It ain’t easy, but I’ve got to try to find my way, anyway I can. I want to get it right. I intend to get it right. So I pay attention to where I’m being led — to what I let in, and to energy I send out.

Avi didn’t just mention intention, though. He obviously strives to live intentionally. I could hear it in the way he spoke of protecting his family and himself from outsiders, as well as in the fact of sharing his gift with the world. I get it. I too am hiding out in the open somewhat — I write under a pen name at times. And I’m also here sharing my gift with the world in order to help others. 🙏

Okay so, I’ve gotten off the beaten path a little bit this week, sure. But let this show y’all what I mean when I say, “Share Any Prose of 1500 words or less inspired by the this week’s song prompt.” Because this essay was with out a doubt inspired by this week’s song prompt, Peace Somehow, whether one would consider it relevant or not.

And since I’m talking about intention here, I want to take a moment to share this week’s Headliner, Chris B. Writes with y’all once again.

It’s obvious by reading and watching or listening to Chris to see that his intention is to lift up others as well. Whether it be by sharing a struggle he and his family have had to endure through his prose, or one of the many Lives he’s orchestrated in order to showcase others.

Oh and one more thing on intention — you might think that the timing of this song choice was intentional, given the current world events. But you should know that it was chosen months ago. Although I gotta say, it sure does seem quite fitting this week, doesn’t it?

So if like me, you’re “low-key” freaking out about some of the current events — maybe put on Peace Somehow, and let it relieve some of your anxiety.
